The curious case of 'Parvez Rasool'
Parvez Rasool, an allrounder from Kashmir valley has been in the news during IPL 2013 for being the first cricketer from the state to play in IPL. However, he played just 2 matches for Pune Warriors in IPL 2013. This year, he is with Sunrisers Hyderabad but luck hasn't changed much for him as he yet to play his first match in Indian Premier League 2014.
An extraordinary performance in the domestic cricket earned him a place for the Zimbabwe tour of 2013 but he was not given a chance in team eleven. He has been a part of India A team for many foreign tours where his allround performance got noticed but inspite of this board has not shown enough trust to include him in the top 11. He is only the second cricketer from J&K to be picked up in the Indian team after Vivek Razdan.
He was bought by Pune Warriors in IPL 2013 where he made his debut against Kolkata Knight Riders. In his first match he conceded just 23 runs from 4 overs and took the crucial wicket of Jacques Kallis . He got another chance against Mumbai Indians but was given just one over. In IPL 2014, he is with Sunrisers Hyderabad but has not been given chance to play.
IPL which is known to nurture the young talent of the country has not done justice with this special talent. With just 3 league matches left for Hyderabad in the tournament, a big question is that whether he will get a chance or the wait is still long for Rasool ???
