यह दोनों जब खेल रहे थे तब लग रहा था कि श्रीलंका बड़ा स्कोर करेगी, लेकिन भारतीय गेंदबाजों ने इस जोड़ी को तोड़कर वापसी की और लगातार विकेट लेकर श्रीलंका को 44.5 ओवरों में 215 रनों पर ही सीमित कर दिया। भारत की तरफ से युजवेंद्र चहल और कुलदीप यादव ने तीन-तीन विकेट लिए।
