List Of World Cup Hat-Tricks By Bowlers
In ODI cricket, fifty hat-tricks have been taken by bowlers to date. In men’s ICC Cricket World Cup history, there have been just 11 instances of a bowler achieving this feat.
- Former India pacer Chetan Sharma was the first to take a World Cup hat-trick. He did this against New Zealand in the 1987 edition.
- Sri Lanka's Chaminda Vaas took a hat-trick with the first three balls of an ODI in the World Cup. He did this against Bangladesh in the 2003 edition.
- Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga is the only man who has taken two hat-tricks in World Cup history.
- Pakistan's Saqlain Mushtaq and South Africa's JP Duminy are the only spinners who have taken hat-tricks in World Cup history.
Let's take a look at the hat-tricks made in the ODI World Cups so far and the bowlers whose names have been etched in history as a result of this remarkable feat.
