T20 World Cup: भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम के विकेटकीपर बल्लेबाज संजू सैमसन को मार्च महीने के लिए आईसीसी के सर्वश्रेष्ठ खिलाड़ी के पुरस्कार से नवाया गया है। सैमसन ने मार्च महीने में समाप्त हुई टी20 विश्व कप में लगातार तीन यादगार पारियां खेलते हुए भारतीय टीम को विश्व चैंपियन बनाने में यादगार भूमिका निभाई थी।
पुरस्कार मिलने के बाद आईसीसी के हवाले से सैमसन ने कहा, "आईसीसी प्लेयर ऑफ द मंथ का खिताब जीतना एक जबरदस्त एहसास है, खासकर इसलिए क्योंकि यह मेरे क्रिकेट के सफर के सबसे यादगार दौर में मिला है। पुरुषों के टी20 विश्व कप में भारत की जीत में हिस्सा लेना सच में एक सपना सच होने जैसा था, और उस पल की अहमियत को पूरी तरह समझने में थोड़ा समय लगा।"
