New Delhi: Australian cricket legend Ricky Ponting has predicted a 3-1 series win for Australia against India in the upcoming edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, scheduled to start on November 22 at Optus Stadium in Perth.

Ponting emphasised that Australia has a "bit of a point to prove" after their recent struggles against India on home soil. In both the 2018-19 and 2020-21 series, India emerged victorious with a 2-1 margin, marking a historic achievement for the visiting side.

Notably, Australia has not won a Test series against India since the 2014-15 season, making this upcoming series crucial for the hosts.
