An aggressive Indian cricketer who stunned everyone during the 2006-07 Ranji Trophy session by knocking 796 runs at an average of 99.50 which also pushed his way into the Indian team for a series against Bangladesh at home.
Talking about a thrasher from West Bengal Manoj Tiwary who was born on November 14, 1985. This right-hand batter who also bowls leg break has played in IPL for multiple teams like Delhi Daredevils, Kolkata Knight Riders, Kings XI Punjab, and Rising Pune Supergiants.
Due to his performance in IPL, he got an opportunity to make an international debut against Australia in the 2007–08 Commonwealth Bank Series in which he scored only 2 runs in his only innings.
He was later included in the India team for the West Indies tour of 2011, as a replacement for Yuvraj Singh, who opted out of the series due to a lung infection.
During his debut, Tiwari got a bit unfortunate as he wasn't able to play for Indian time initially due to a serious shoulder injury during fielding practice on the eve of the game at Mirpur, where everyone thought he would make his debut.
He was jet-lagged, in Brisbane, and completely out of his league when his debut finally came in early 2008 against a searing Brett Lee. He had to wait more than three years before playing in his next international match, and when he did, he was asked to start the innings because he was taking the place of a second-string team's underwhelming opener. The next attempt failed.
While playing for India, Manoj Tiwary appeared in 12 ODI matches where he scored 287 and grabbed 5 wickets. In 3 T20Is he just scored 15 runs.
His first-class career is outstanding as he has smashed 9435 runs in 131 matches where his highest individual score was 303 not out and scalped 32 wickets as well. In T20 games he has made 3436 runs in 183 matches and took 34 wickets as well.
Cricketnmore wishes Manoj Tiwary a very Happy Birthday and a great future ahead.
