ਆਸਟਰੇਲੀਆ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਮਾਈਕਲ ਕਲਾਰਕ ਨੇ ਸੰਕੇਤ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਦੇ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ ਸਟੀਵ ਸਮਿਥ ਆਈਪੀਐਲ -2021 ਦੀ ਨਿਲਾਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਘੱਟ ਕੀਮਤ ਮਿਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸੱਟ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਲੀਗ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਸਮਿਥ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਕੈਪੀਟਲ ਨੇ 2.20 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਖਰੀਦਿਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਉਸਦੀ ਬੇਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਈਸ 2 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਸੀ। ਰਾਇਲ ਚੈਲੇਂਜਰਜ਼ ਬੈਂਗਲੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਬੋਲੀ ਬੇਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਈਸ 'ਤੇ ਕੀਤੀ, ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਕੈਪੀਟਲ ਨੇ 20 ਲੱਖ ਹੋਰ 2.20 ਕਰੋੜ' ਚ ਸਮਿਥ ਨੂੰ ਖਰੀਦ ਲਿਆ। ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਵਿਚ ਫਾਈਨਲ ਵੀ ਖੇਡਿਆ ਸੀ।
