भारत ने नवी मुंबई के डीवाई पाटिल स्टेडियम में खेले गए महिला वर्ल्ड कप 2025 के अहम मुकाबले में न्यूजीलैंड को 53 रनों से हराकर सेमीफाइनल में अपनी जगह पक्की कर ली। टीम इंडिया की इस जीत में ओपनर स्मृति मंधाना और प्रतिका रावल ने अहम भूमिका निभाते हुए 212 रनों की रिकॉर्ड साझेदारी की। 95 गेंदों में 109 रनों की पारी खेलने के लिए स्मृति मंधाना को प्लेयर ऑफ द मैच चुना गया जिससे वो खुद काफी हैरान थीं।
इंडिया की वाइस-कैप्टन स्मृति मंधाना ने प्लेयर ऑफ द मैच जीतने के बाद कहा कि उनकी साथी प्रतिका रावल भी उतनी ही इसकी हक़दार थीं जितनी वो। स्मृति इस मैच में अपना शतक पूरा करने वाली पहली खिलाड़ी थीं और 109 रन बनाकर आउट हुईं। उनके बाद प्रतिका ने 122 रनों की शानदा शतकीय पारी खेली, जिससे इंडिया ने 49 ओवर में तीन विकेट पर 340 रन बनाए।
