Mitchell Santner: बाएं हाथ के स्पिनर मिशेल सेंटनर ने करियर के सर्वश्रेष्ठ 7-53 के आंकड़े हासिल किए, जिससे न्यूजीलैंड ने शुक्रवार को एमसीए स्टेडियम में दूसरे टेस्ट के दूसरे दिन भारत को 156 रन पर आउट कर 103 रन की महत्वपूर्ण बढ़त हासिल की। न्यूजीलैंड ने अपनी दूसरी पारी में दिन का खेल समाप्त होने तक पांच विकेट खोकर 198 रन बना लिए हैं। न्यूजीलैंड के पास अब कुल 301 रन की बढ़त हो गई है जबकि उसके पांच विकेट बाकी है।
न्यूजीलैंड की दूसरी पारी में कप्तान टॉम लैथम ने जबरदस्त बल्लेबाजी करते हुए 133 गेंदों पर 10 चौकों की मदद से 86 रन बनाए और वह पांचवे बल्लेबाज के रूप में टीम के 183 के स्कोर पर आउट हुए। डेवॉन कानवे ने 17 और विल यंग ने 23 रन बनाए। स्टंप्स के समय टॉम ब्लंडेल 30 और ग्लेन फिलिप्स 9 रन बनाकर क्रीज पर थे।
पहली पारी में 7 विकेट लेने वाले वॉशिंगटन सुंदर ने दूसरी पारी में भी बेहतरीन गेंदबाजी करते हुए न्यूजीलैंड के पांच में से 4 विकेट झटके। सुंदर ने 19 ओवर में 56 रन पर चार विकेट लिए। रविचंद्रन अश्विन ने 17 ओवर में 64 रन पर 1 विकेट लिया। भारतीय गेंदबाजों पर अब जिम्मेदारी है कि वे चौथे दिन कल (शनिवार) मेहमानों की पारी को जल्दी समेटे।
