Rugby Premier League: Franchises Finalise Squads At Draft & Auction As Women’s Franchises Make Historic Debut
Prashant Arvind Pratap Singh: Sumit Kumar Roy led the Indian men signings for Hyderabad Heroes at 3.75 lakh, while Shikha Yadav tops Indian buys for Delhi Redz at 2.4 lakh in the inaugural women’s auction for Rugby Premier League's Season 2, conducted in Hyderabad on Thursday.
All franchises have assembled strong, competitive squads for the upcoming season of the Rugby Premier League.
In a landmark moment for Indian rugby, the women’s franchises also participated in the Auction and Draft, with Chennai Bulls, Mumbai Dreamers, Kolkata Banga Tigers, and Delhi Redz building their inaugural squads. Both the men’s and women’s competitions will be held at Gachibowli Stadium, Hyderabad, from June 16 to 28, 2026.
