R Ashwin's outing with Surrey turned out to be unimpressive as the premier Indian spinner could bag just one wicket in 43 overs he bowled against Somerset in a County Championship match.
The 34-year-old, who is one among only three Indian spinners to take over 400 Test wickets, will be key to India's fortunes in the five-Test series against England beginning August 4. Ashwin had opened the bowling and got the wicket of Tom Lammonby in the 40th over of the match, beating his defences and rattling his stumps.
