Greaves, Matthews Complete Rare Double For WI In ICC Player Of The Month Award For July
ICC World Test Championship: West Indies all-rounder Justin Greaves and Hayley Matthews have been named the ICC Player of the Month Award for July following their outstanding performances in Test cricket and the women’s award for exceptional efforts in ODIs, giving the West Indies a rare double.
This was the first time players from the West Indies won both awards and only the fifth such instance since the inception of the awards in January 2021.
India’s Jasprit Bumrah and Smriti Mandhana (June 2024), Sri Lanka’s Dunith Wellalage and Harshitha Samarawickrama (August 2024), India’s Abhishek Sharma and Smriti Mandhana (September 2025), and South Africa’s Senuran Muthusami and Laura Wolvaardt (October 2025) have achieved the feat in the past.
