सौरव गांगुली ने गिल और गंभीर पर मढ़ा पिच को चुनने का दोष, बोले- 'क्यूरेटर का कोई कसूर नहीं'
बंगाल क्रिकेट संघ के अध्यक्ष सौरव गांगुली ने हाल ही में हुई आलोचनाओं के बीच ईडन गार्डन्स की पिच का बचाव किया है। गांगुली ने दावा किया कि पिच भारतीय टीम की मांगों के अनुसार डिज़ाइन की गई थी। भारत बनाम साउथ अफ्रीका पहले टेस्ट के पहले दो दिनों में 26 विकेट गिरे और मैच तीसरे दिन समाप्त होने की कगार पर है। ऐसे में माइकल वॉन, हरभजन सिंह जैसे दिग्गजों के अलावा कई क्रिकेट एक्सपर्ट्स ने भी पिच पर सवाल उठाए।
गांगुली ने पिच की आलोचनाओं के बीच सीधा-सीधा गौतम गंभीर और कप्तान शुभमन गिल पर पिच सेलेक्ट करने का दोष मढ़ दिया। न्यूज़18 बांग्ला से बात करते हुए दादा ने कहा, "ये पिच वैसी ही है जैसी भारतीय टीम चाहती थी। जब आप चार दिनों तक पिच पर पानी नहीं डालते हैं तो यही होता है। क्यूरेटर सुजान मुखर्जी को दोष नहीं दिया जा सकता।"
