रविवार (19 जनवरी) को एतेहासिक वानखेड़े स्टेडियम में मुंबई के कई दिग्गज भारतीय क्रिकेटर एकत्रित हुए और इस स्टेडियम की 50वीं वर्षगांठ मनाई। इस प्रोग्राम में मुंबई के पूर्व औऱ मौजूदा क्रिकेटर शामिल हुए, जिसमें से कुछ दिग्गजों ने मंच से अपनी यादें साझा कीं। मंच पर आमंत्रित दिग्गजों में सुनील गावस्कर, सचिन तेंदुलकर, रवि शास्त्री, रोहित शर्मा और अजिंक्य रहाणे, दिलीप वेंगसरकर औऱ डायना एडुल्जी शामिल थीं।
मंच पर बैठने के लिए कुर्सिया दायीं, बीच में और बायीं तरफ लगी हुई थी। । जब रवि शास्त्री मंच पर आए, तो उन्होंने बाईं ओर की सीट चुनी। कुछ ही देर बाद, रोहित शर्मा आए और सम्मान और गर्मजोशी के साथ शास्त्री के पास गए और उनसे बीच की सीट पर जाने का अनुरोध किया। भारतीय क्रिकेट में उनके कद और योगदान का सम्मान करते हुए।
